Collection: Goslings

This original pastel painting captures two newly hatched goslings huddled together, their soft yellow down rendered with extraordinary delicacy against a dark, warm ground. The distinctive blue-grey bills identify them as Canada Goose (Branta canadensis) chicks — one of Britain's most familiar waterbirds, found on lakes, rivers and parkland throughout the country. The painting is a celebration of new life and the irresistible charm of the very young, the two chicks pressed together in the instinctive closeness of siblings fresh from the nest.

At the heart of nature

I am entirely self-taught. Whenever possible I draw from my own photographs. My aim is to create expressive art works that convey the beauty and emotion of nature in all its diversity.
